Steven W. Saccoccia has practiced law since 1984, representing individuals and businesses throughout the United States, including California, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alaska and Hawaii, in a wide variety of matters. These cases include major complex litigation, catastrophic injuries and wrongful death, as well as medical and legal malpractice, class actions, pharmaceutical, automotive and industrial product liability and nursing home cases.
Mr. Saccoccia and his firm were featured in Atlanta Magazine for one of their Phen-fen cases and he has been featured in articles on the front page of the Fulton County Daily a number of times. One of those articles was about the jury verdict of over three and a half million dollars Mr. Saccoccia and his firm obtained in Newnan Georgia, the record nursing home verdict in this State.
A 1980 cum laud graduate of Boston College receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy, while contemporaneously cross enrolled in Northeastern University and obtained a full military scholarship covering both schools. He was the 1982 Recipient of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America Award.
Mr. Saccoccia received his juris doctorate from Emory University in 1984. While there, among other things he was elected a Special Teams Member of Moot Court Society (Appellate Arguments); was a winner of the ATLA trial team competition, then competed on behalf of Emory at the regional competition in Florida; and was a finalist in the client counseling competition.
Mr. Saccoccia has spoken on many different issues that arise in his line of work. At the 1997 State Bar of Georgia Annual Convention and Seminar, he spoke on Ethical Consideration on Attorney Fee Issues. In 2000, Mr. Saccoccia spoke to the Macon Bar Association Nursing Home Seminar on punitive damages and then record 3.6 million dollar verdict he and his firm obtained in a nursing home case in Newnan, Georgia.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Saccoccia is also an avid hang glider pilot and motorcycle enthusiast. He flies at Lookout Mountain Flight Park in Northwest Georgia and is a member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club, a family oriented organization which, in addition to group rides and trips, raises money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and injured riders.
Nica H. Tallman, a graduate of Emory University School of Law, has also been in practice since 1984. While at Emory, she was member of the Moot Court Society, Special Teams Member. Among other honors, she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Conflicts of Laws. She also worked in the Cobb County District Attorney’s office while still in her third year at Emory.
Following law school, Ms. Tallman became experienced in both criminal and civil litigation, first as an Assistant District Attorney on felony, misdemeanor, juvenile and domestic cases in both South Georgia and Atlanta. Thereafter, she joined with a firm representing Defendants in such cases. She has even been Corporate Counsel for a large Atlanta business.
On the civil side, she has worked on both sides, representing Plaintiffs and Defendants in personal injury and domestic and family law cases with several firms. Ms. Tallman was also an associate at Mr. Saccoccia’s previous law firm, Kellogg, Saccoccia & Sigelman, working in the areas of Complex Civil Litigation, Class Action, Pharmaceutical, Medical Malpractice and Product Liability cases.
For eight years prior to joining Saccoccia & Associates, Ms. Tallman was a Senior Negotiator and then a full associate with Montlick & Associates, responsible for her own caseload as well as cases which other attorneys had been unable to resolve. During that time, she obtained millions of dollars in settlement for thousands of people injured or killed by the negligence and intentional wrongdoing of others.
